Northbound

I come from the ice and snow and
20,000 cloudy days
Yes I’m cold all night and day but
Soon we will have summer’s haze
I could go live somewhere else yeah
But it’s where I want to be
Strengthened by the muddy waters
Of the mighty Genesee
Let’s go!
We’re headed Northbound
Travel northward and you’ll find that
We are made of stronger stuff
Or we head for southern cities
‘Cause the winters are so rough
Birthplace of the garbage plate yeah
And the beer is pretty great
Party’s up in Western New York
And you know I won’t be late
Let’s go!
We’re headed Northbound
Set a course for the southern shores of Lake Ontario
And we’ll be where the cliched tourists wouldn’t dare to go
Let’s go there now!
I come from the ice and snow and
20,000 cloudy days
Yes I’m cold all night and day but
Soon we will have summer’s haze
I could go live somewhere else yeah
But it’s where I want to be
Strengthened by the muddy waters
Of the mighty Genesee
Let’s go!
We’re headed Northbound

I've tried a hundred times
To make sense of all this mess
It's been explained to me
I understand even less
Something just happened once
And now everything has changed
We are all upside down
And life has been rearranged
They just pass me by
They just pass by
Everything crashes in
And nothing springs to mind
Everyone cashes in
Already I'm behind
I've tried a thousand times
To make sense of all this mess
Somebody wrote it down
But still I can only guess
They just pass me by
They just pass by
I don't understand at all
How this happens all the time
I hear about some new thing
The next day it's past its prime
I've tried a million times
To make heads or tails of this
But something's not adding up
I guess I'll just be remiss
They just pass me by
They just pass me by
They just pass me by
They just pass by

Yeah it’s time to go driving
Can’t take this anymore
I don’t care if it’s snowing
Gotta go to the store
Don’t know why we do this
It’s too dangerous out
Blinded by the snow drifts
I think we’re lost again
Never mind, he said to me
We’ll be fine, it’s no snow day
So we left to go somewhere
And we aimed for the highway
Losing track of the traffic
Fallen off of the pace
Look at all of the snowflakes
Like I’m flying in space
Don’t know why we do this
It’s too dangerous out
Blinded by the snow drifts
I think we’re lost again
We drove around for hours
And didn’t find a thing
The miles began to add up
Another pointless fling
The people that we saw
Were more bored souls like us
Vacation plans were homeward
I guess we missed the bus
We do this every time
Every time it snows
What are we, insane?
Don’t know why we do this
It’s too dangerous out
Blinded by the snow drifts
I think we’re lost again

Calculated Obsolescence
06:22
|

Concentrated misinforming
Calculated obsolescence
Artificial humans are here
Superficial intelligence
What's there
Who's this
What's the point of this production
For advancement or destruction
Being built to supersede us
Average Joes are bad for business
What's there
Who's this
Love and technology
Fate in a single key
And we all feel so alone
But connection's always there
As we shout into the void
That we carry everywhere

Collecting Dust
04:01

It's so easy to be idle
When the cold is breathing down our necks
Would you look me in the eye though
And then tell me everything's in check
It sure feels stagnant
And I'm sitting by myself
Like the books up on your shelf
Maybe one day you'll take one down and read it
But until then we'll be collecting dust
I've been told there's a place
Where they say we'll never have to wait again
So let's go find the space
Where we say we never have to wait again
And the days they start colliding
Even advertisements stay the same
With our dusty selves presiding
While a judge decide which bore's to blame
And court's in session
And I'm sitting by myself
Like the books up on your shelf
Maybe one day you'll take one down and read it
But until then we'll be collecting dust
I've been told there's a place
Where they say we'll never have to wait again
So let's go find the space
Where we say we never have to wait again

Abandoned

As I sit in my house again
I wait for nothing to happen but I
Wonder why I still feel so ill at ease
And we sit safe at home and then
We wait for something to cure inaction
All I ask is for validation please
I sit and stare out the picture window tonight
And watch the snow fall and pile up on the street
It’s much too quiet for just another snowfall
We’ve hunkered down in our cozy old retreats
Just like old buildings
Decrepit and worn
And they sit rotting
We argue about what to do with them
We have to do something about this
It’s long overdue
‘Cause we can’t ignore what’s in our face
So what can we do
So here we stand in front of ourselves
Victims of apathy again
We are ignored, abandoned at last
And cast off to the sea again
And here we stand in front of ourselves
Victims of apathy again
We are ignored, abandoned at last
And cast off to the sea again
Just like old buildings
Decrepit and worn
And they sit rotting
We argue about what to do with them
We have to do something about this
It’s long overdue
‘Cause we can’t ignore what’s in our face
So what can we do
On these days I sit at home with my face glued to devices
And I know this can’t be good but what else are we supposed to do
In an old forgotten barn out in the middle of nowhere
Years ago the roof caved in and its owner packed up and moved on
Since that day the animals claimed it for hiding from snowstorms
Nature takes a hold again new life has sprung from destruction
